Respect to life is a fundamental principle that many countries respect across the world. States have enacted laws that protect the right to life and structures that govern them. Due to continued oppression and dictatorship from few countries, people have risen to defend and uphold the dignity of human beings.

They have developed resistance and established organizations that champion for the respect of individuals. As such, other countries have borrowed a leaf from the civil right movements and have been defending the right to life whenever a threat occurs.

Civil and human rights organization have played a significant role in the United States of America towards protecting the rights of migrants. Civil society has gone on to introduce the five freedom of the First Amendment with the aim of articulating issues affecting the migrants.

For instance, The ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project has been fighting for the rights of immigrants and liberties by ensuring there is no public or private discrimination of people. The organization has been in existence for the past 25 years and has brought much change in the lives of immigrants.

Many materials have been written regarding the rules that should be followed when addressing human rights and immigration policies. International organizations have also organized seminars with the aim of educating people on the importance of respecting human rights specifically immigrants.

People mostly affected by the immigration process are the asylum seekers, children, and individuals living with disabilities among others. Without a clear-cut remedy, many detainees are always left suffering because of the long process in seeking justice. Other countries have continued to detain immigrants in a deplorable state with squeezed cells, poor sanitation and sexual assault.

Though civil and human rights organization have emerged, many still facestiff competition and challenges from existing governments due to weak legislations.

The two journalists were arrested by the county sheriff Joe Arpaio after they were to reveal a secret about a grand jury proceeding that wanted to use reporter’s notes to cover-up on the sheriff’s shortcomings.
